Saturdays

Dear Lily and Sam,
Today has been a lazy, nice Saturday!  I know you get to take a nap most days, but I can't take a nap most days during the week, so I particularly like weekends when I can have a nap.  Usually I try to get stuff done on Saturdays also!  Saturday isn't my laundry day - but I like to do a project around the house - sometimes it's cleaning or cooking or making something.  Today, I didn't really do much of a project:  Aunt Steph and I just filled the wood racks up after she came home from work!  But I did have a nice nap.

G-pa and I have a BIG project to do *sometime soon* because we have to clean out our basement.  Before Christmas it was getting to the point where you couldn't even walk in the utility room.  We did spend one day starting to clean it up, but we didn't finish it, and we haven't had a chance to get back down there and work on it any more.

In March, G-pa says we're going to start working on the new kitchen project - - THAT will be a really big project, and it will take more than Saturdays to get it done!  G-pa says we will start by taking out the wall between the kitchen and dining room and putting in the new support beam and the new island.  That way we will have a sink and dishwasher to use even when we tear out the other part of the kitchen.  I probably won't like having my kitchen torn apart, but I know I will like having the new kitchen when it gets done.

What's your favorite project to do with Mom & Dad on the weekends?

I like your new couch a whole bunch, and I can't wait to come to Germany and sit on it with you!  We will have to read stories on the couch - and maybe even take a nap!  Next time we skype, Momma says she's going to help me learn about putting pictures on my blog - that way you can see the stuff I write about!  I can't wait to talk to you on Skype sometime soon! I miss you and I love you both bunches!

love and kisses,
Gigi

  1. Hey Gigi! We really like that on the weekends Momma lets loose and spends less time puttering around the house and more time snuggling as a family. And now that we have our big couch, we can all sit on it and watch a movie. It's nice. We also get to do fun stuff on our "weekends" when Daddy's off... like in a few days, we're going to have some friends over for dinner and playing.

I know you've been looking forward to your big new kitchen project... we can't wait to see how it turns out!

    Love you Gigi!
